About

The Aurora Film Society (AFS) was formed in September 2017 by a group of Aurorans all committed to cinema. The AFS recognizes and is committed to the notion of the city center as the hub of cultural collaboration.

The group has been formed to serve as an educational, social, and local resource that provides a shared cinematic cultural experience based in the city center.

AFS screens a different movie each month at the Aurora Regional Fire Museum. (Due to Covid-19, live screenings are suspended for the time being.)

AFS is an organization that promotes public appreciation of under-represented films and as such, the IRS has recognized AFS as a 501 (c) 3 charity.
